Readings in early European drama and social history are augmented by representations in art of early theaters, performances and comic themes. Videotapes are used to explore the development of traditional comic themes in modern theatre.

To equip teachers with the ability to use creative dramatics in the classroom. The emphasis is on the participant and participation. Dramatic play and play-making are integral to the class. Techniques will be taught that can be transferred to many other subjects and disciplines. Students should attend comfortably dressed.
